Amara Majeed, Founder and Owner of The Hijab Project, joins us this episode to talk about her social experiment and more.
As Amara mentions on her website:
“Muslim women wear the hijab, or headscarf, in order to preserve their modesty. In Islam, women are portrayed as people who must be respected for who they are and not seen for their beauty or bodies. Often times, people think that Muslim women are forced into wearing hijab by male relatives. In Islam, everything is based on intention. Generally, if you do something to please one other than God, then your actions aren’t acceptable. The hijab is a woman’s choice.”
